Challenging Heights recently registered a US chapter to help with its fundraising effort. There are so many exciting ways you can get involved with the pioneering work of Challenging Heights, so please review our website and let us know how we can help you make a difference! Below are some ways our international friends can get involved.  We would love to receive you as a volunteer in Ghana, but you don’t have to leave home to make an impact and help us continue our work!

 

Fundraising

We are always looking for more ways to fund our projects.  If you would like to volunteer as a fundraiser you can help us by finding new funding avenues, writing funding proposals and developing fundraising strategies.

 

While much of this work is done from our office in Accra, your help is still needed and appreciated.  If you would like to volunteer but don’t have the funds or time to travel to Ghana, there are many opportunities to help us fundraise from your country of residence.  Please, kindly let us know about it and we will assist you.

 

Communications

Challenging Heights is active in the media, bringing national and international attention to the problems of child trafficking and the worst forms of child labour.  You can help us by working on our media and communications strategy and writing press statements.  This role is also likely to involve report and proposal writing.

 

Advocacy

Spread the word! You could greatly assist us simply by telling your peers and colleagues about Challenging Heights and the issues of child trafficking and child labour within Ghana.

 

If you or someone you know is organizing an event and would like me to visit and speak please contact me on jameskofiannan@gmail.com. Each year I spend a number of months abroad raising awareness and mobilizing support for the protection of underprivileged children in Ghana.

 

Short-term volunteers

If you are unable to spend a month or more with Challenging Heights, there are some possibilities for short-term volunteers.  These are helping facilitate our community development activities or working in our school as teacher support.  You can also fundraise from home on behalf of Challenging Heights.

 

Community mobilization programs

We run many programs to raise awareness of issues in our target communities.

 

Specially designed projects

If you are volunteering for a short time or planning to volunteer as part of a group, we can design a project to fit your timeframe.  This could involve community awareness raising events or specific activities with our beneficiaries.  Under this option, volunteers may be asked to cover the cost of the project.

 

Group volunteering

Challenging Heights can also accommodate groups of volunteers to work on specific projects.  These projects can range from construction of infrastructure through to education programs.  If you are part of a group that would like to travel to Ghana to volunteer, please contact us and we can discuss possible projects with you.  Group volunteers will design their own projects in consultation with us and will mobilize the funds needed to execute them.
