Children visit home to prepare for reintegration

By Challenging Heights | June 21, 2017

On a quiet morning in Joma, a small coastal town in Ghana, Challenging Heights social workers accompanied a group of children on supervised home visits as part of their reintegration journey.

These visits form a vital stage in preparing rescued children to return safely to their families and communities. During each visit, social workers assess family readiness, strengthen family bonds, and provide guidance to ensure that children will be returning to supportive and protective environments.

For many families, the visit marks the first reunion since their children were rescued from exploitative labour. These emotional interactions help lay the foundation for long-term stability and successful reintegration.

Challenging Heights remains committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of every child in its care and continues to work closely with families and communities to support a safe and sustainable return home.
