“Our mission: to learn about children’s rights”

BY CHALLENGING HEIGHTS / JULY 25, 2017

Last week, a group of students from Friends International Academy joined Challenging Heights for a Child Rights Camp (CRC), aimed at educating young people about children’s rights and responsibilities.

The Child Rights Camp, first introduced by Challenging Heights in 2003, is designed to create a safe and engaging space where children can learn about the rights guaranteed to them under national and international laws, including the right to education, protection, participation, and development. Through interactive discussions, group activities, and practical exercises, students were encouraged to ask questions, share experiences, and reflect on how rights apply in their daily lives.

Participants also explored the importance of respecting the rights of others and understanding their role in promoting fairness, dignity, and equality within their schools and communities.

Challenging Heights remains committed to empowering children with knowledge and confidence to speak up for themselves and others, believing that informed children are better equipped to protect their rights and contribute positively to society.
