In October, Challenging Heights made significant strides through our Kinship Care Advocacy Campaign, engaging children, carers, and government officials in a series of workshops and interactive sessions.
The campaign focused on:
- Highlighting the importance of Kinship Care as a sustainable alternative care approach
- Celebrating and appreciating kinship carers for their vital role in supporting children
- Building capacity to strengthen family-based care systems in Ghana and beyond
Educational materials, including books, school supplies, and financial support, were provided to participating children and carers to enhance learning and wellbeing.
Discussions centered on child protection, access to kinship care services, and the role of kinship care in preventing family breakdown. Participants shared valuable insights, experiences, and best practices that will help reinforce and expand kinship care networks.
