We know that changing cultural norms is no easy task. While many survey respondents acknowledge the harm caused by corporal punishment, the practice remains common in schools and communities across Ghana. This highlights the need for continued engagement to bridge the gap between awareness and practice.
Challenging Heights is addressing this challenge by promoting positive, non-violent discipline among teachers. Through trainings and workshops, educators are introduced to alternative classroom management approaches that respect children’s rights while supporting effective learning.
By equipping teachers with practical tools and encouraging reflection, the initiative helps create safer and more supportive school environments. Challenging Heights remains committed to working with educators and communities to reduce violence against children and promote child-friendly education.
