Challenging Heights proudly participated in this year’s Blue Umbrella Day campaign, raising awareness about sexual violence against boys and advocating for April 16th to be officially recognized by the United Nations as International Blue Umbrella Day.
Capacity-Building Workshops
We hosted a series of workshops to equip parents, students, government officials, and media personnel with the knowledge and tools to prevent and respond to sexual violence:
- Parents: Recognizing signs of trauma, building trust, and creating safe home environments
- Students: Understanding healthy relationships, effects of abuse, and the importance of speaking out
- Government Officials: Trauma-informed responses, proper case handling, and strengthening child protection systems
- Media Personnel: Ethical reporting on child sexual violence while safeguarding survivor dignity
These efforts aim to foster a culture of collective responsibility, where every adult is empowered to act and every child feels safe to seek help.
Radio Sensitization Campaign
To extend our reach, we implemented a radio sensitization campaign across local and regional stations, educating the public and encouraging community advocacy for boys’ protection.
Take Action
The campaign continues through our global petition calling on the United Nations to declare April 16th as International Blue Umbrella Day.
