Challenging Heights has officially constituted its new Advisory Board following the expiration of the previous board’s tenure in December 2025.
The new Advisory Board is chaired by Professor Mavis Amo-Mensah. Prof. Amo-Mensah is an accomplished academic, strategic communication expert, and public relations scholar with extensive experience in higher education leadership, institutional advancement, and research.
Currently an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Strategic Communication at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Amo-Mensah holds a PhD in Public Relations and Strategic Communication from Leeds Beckett University, UK. She is also an Accredited Public Relations Practitioner (APR) with the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana. Her extensive work focuses sharply on strategic communication, corporate social responsibility (CSR), governance, and communication for development. Her expertise in governance, communication strategy, institutional leadership, and research contributes significantly to organizational development and stakeholder engagement.
Joining the Chair on the board is an esteemed panel of cross-sectoral experts, including:
- Dr. Lawrencia Aggrey-Bluwey (Member): A registered general nurse, health policy and health systems researcher, and a Lecturer in the Department of Health Administration and Education at UEW, bringing vast experience in healthcare management and public health research.
- Kenneth Mamudu (Member): A seasoned development practitioner and child protection specialist with over two decades of experience in community development. He previously served as the National Programme Manager for Ghana’s National Programme for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour in Cocoa (NPECLC).
- Linda Atta Osabutey (Member): An accomplished project management, gender, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) specialist with over 12 years of international development experience. She most recently served as a Project Management Specialist for MEL at USAID’s West Africa Regional Mission.
- James Kofi Annan (Secretary): President of Challenging Heights, who serves as the Board’s Secretary.
Marking the official commencement of its tenure, the board has held its inaugural meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
The diverse composition of academics, development practitioners, and industry players equips the board with the comprehensive knowledge and experience required to drive the organization forward over the next two years. The new board is expected to consolidate the gains made by its predecessors while charting a path of growth, progress and impact.
The mandate of the Advisory Board is to provide overarching strategic direction during its two-year term.
