As part of our ongoing commitment to child protection and well-being, our recovery staff organized an educational session for girls in the puberty stage at the recovery house, focusing on puberty awareness and menstrual hygiene management.
The session provided a safe and supportive environment where the girls felt comfortable asking questions and sharing their experiences. Facilitators guided discussions on the physical and emotional changes associated with puberty, helping participants understand that these changes are natural and a normal part of growing up.
A key focus of the session was menstrual hygiene. The girls were taken through practical guidance on the use of sanitary products, personal hygiene practices, and how to manage their menstrual cycle with confidence and dignity. Emphasis was also placed on maintaining cleanliness, changing sanitary materials regularly, and ensuring proper disposal.
Beyond knowledge-sharing, the session also aimed to build the girls’ confidence and self-esteem. They were encouraged to embrace this stage of life without fear or shame and to develop a positive understanding of their bodies.
Through initiatives like this, Challenging Heights continues to empower children with knowledge, promote their well-being, and protect their rights.
