Bawa Is Now in His Final Year of Law School!

Do you remember Bawa?

When we last shared his story, he had just celebrated his graduation and been admitted to law school. Today, we are proud to bring you the next chapter: Nuhu is now in his final year of law school.

The dream he has carried for so long, becoming a lawyer, is now within reach.

Nuhu was trafficked as a child, and his education was delayed by many years. His family supported him through high school. After that, he worked to save money for university because he was determined to study and one day become a lawyer.

But the money he earned was not enough to cover his fees and his daily needs. In level 300, he was close to giving up.

Then he heard about our Enhanced Reintegration and Mentorship Program. He applied, qualified, and found the support he needed for the rest of his journey.

Once he no longer had to worry about fees and supplies, Nuhu could simply study. His results rose. Before the program, he was on a Second Class Lower Division. In 2024, he graduated from the University of Education, Winneba, with a Second Class Upper Division in Human Resource Management. His mentors were thrilled.

At his graduation, he said:

“The program has been of great help to me. I believe I could have made a first-class if I had been a beneficiary from the beginning of my tertiary education. This is because I started studying with ease, not having to worry about payment of fees and purchasing of supplies after I became a beneficiary. My confidence has shot up and my academic prowess improved all under this project. My warmest appreciation to the Challenging Heights team and anyone who supported me up to here.”

From a childhood lost to trafficking, to a degree, to the final year of law school: every step has been Nuhu’s own work. With a law degree, he will be able to stand up for others who have faced what he faced.

We are deeply grateful to every donor, partner and well-wisher who has walked this road with him. We will keep supporting him until he is called to the Bar.

Nuhu has made us proud. With your help, we will see him through to the finish line.
